We all represent our ideas of reality through our senses or modalities. The good news is you can change your internal representation about something in a matter of minutes. What if I told you it is a simple process to have you think petrol whenever you're about to drink coffee - or give up biting your nails forever just as quickly. There's a few useful things to keep in mind when you're working out what keeps you in a sort of groundhog day - the cycle that keeps appearing that you'd like to break free of.

We give everything that happens to us its meaning - and this meaning is based entirely in language. We describe every positive and negative emotion with words - our map of the world. Respect everybody's map (you don't have to agree) and you may find your's receives more respect. It's pretty clear that words are very powerful. So, avoid talking about things you don't want. Give up being right - even when you know you were/are - and give up the idea that there's something wrong. You're just asking for it!
