Smoking
No matter how you look at it and despite it's marketing over the years as the pastime of the cool, smoking is complete nonsense. The average 20 a day smoker over the course of 30 years (the time it took me to finally pack them in) spends around £50,000 for the privilege of killing your beautiful self. Cigarettes are full of hundreds (some say 2000) noxious chemicals and at least 20 known carcinogens (the stuff that gives you cancer).
Now, it took me a few goes to give up - but I never gave up trying to give up and the thing that really worked for me in the end was the realisation that after a few days it was all in my head and the pain of the depression of falling back into the trap after I'd been free was worse than going through that minor withdrawal one time. Sure, I'm a recovering addict. I can't put another of those things in my mouth again but if I can come up with 'why its a must' that I stay free of tobacco and devise a number of strategies to deal with my smoking triggers (coffee, phone, post meal etc) then its a lot easier than you think.
The thing that keeps us smoking apart from the drug addiction is fear. Fear that we will fail (there is no failure only feedback). Fear that we won't be in the cool circle. Fear that we won't be significant. Fear that we'll put on weight. Fear that we won't have our little friend. YAWN!
Have a look at my Freedom from Tobacco brochure for more information about the horrible little things or contact me on 08707 669 878 for a 2 hour session to give up for good.
