Songwriting

Great songs stay with people all of their lives!

Its a wonderful thing to be able to capture what's going on inside you in a form that moves, inspires and helps others. Songs (and other art forms) give people joy, understanding, magic. Songs can move people's bodies and their hearts - and I love writing them.

As this site expands I will include writing tips and links and lessons from many sources. I am currently doing an online songwriting course at Berklee to further improve my skills and approach. I'll kick off with what I remember to be John Lennons songwriting mantra.
Have a backbeat, say something real and cut it back.
